
Yuzvendra Chahal says that he is happy and excited to be back where he started his IPL career from. Chahal will be wearing the Rajasthan Royals jersey this IPL season.
Chahal, who was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise from 2014 to 2021. He was later got auctioned by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.5 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction.
It is a homecoming for Chahal, who was a part of the squad of Royals in 2010 but did not get a single game. However, it is understandable that he is emotionally connected with Royal challengers Bangalore where he spent 8 seasons.

Chahal said that he was never asked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise if he would want to be retained and that there were never any conversations about money.
The spinner has played 114 IPL matches overall and of these 113 appearances have been for RCB. This all happened under the stint of Kohli’s captaincy. He has taken 139 IPL wickets in total. He has played only 1 match for Mumbai Indians in 2013, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Yuzvendra Chahal – From RCB to RR
The former RCB player stated that he is very excited to be a part of the RR team. In 2010, he was in the squad but did not make it to the main team. He said that he is very excited and happy to be part of the team once again. It is his first IPL family and he started his IPL journey from there. He is excited to share the ball with R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal commented.
He has a close bond with RCB, especially with the fans, Chahal said. Getting a lot of match time was one advantage of playing for RCB. He said that he could not imagine playing for another franchise.
Yuzvendra Chahal also added that RCB never asked him whether he wanted to be retained or not. RCB managed just informed him about the three retentions and said that they will go for him in the auctions. However, the player got auctioned by RR instead of RCB in the mega auctions.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s expectations of being retained by RCB
Chahal said that it was just a matter of asking whether he wanted to be retained by the franchise or not. They just never asked him, he said. If they had, he would have said yes. Money is always secondary for him.
RCB as a franchise has offered him a lot and gave him so much love and support, Yuzvendra Chahal said. He acknowledged that he is very emotionally attached to RCB and it won’t easily come off.
