
Sidra Ameen hit a wonderful century that went in vain as Bangladesh registers their maiden win. Bangladesh took just three matches to register their first World Cup win. Bangladesh shook Pakistan to seal a thrilling nine-run win with Fargana Hoque scoring 71 and Fatima Khatun grabbing three wickets in the game.
Bangladesh batting powerhouses
Sharmin Akhter and Shamima Sultana helped Bangladesh gain a brisk start before Nida Dar was dismissed in the ninth over. Hoque and Nigar Sultana partnered to form a stand of 96 to help the side build a solid platform for the last ten over.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana lost her wicket in 61 deliveries left in the innings. That led Bangladesh to wobble as they went from being 179 for 2 to 213 for 6.

The failed chase by Pakistan aside Sidra Ameen century
The Pak could not do justice to Sidra Ameen’s century and it was not enough for them to win the second game. Nahida Khan and Sidra Ameen, the Pakistani openers established a solid start with a 91 runs stand. Rumana Ahmed provided the team a breakthrough in the 24th over.

Pakistan was 155 for 1 in the over and thought were going strong but they found themselves shattering at 188 for 7.
Jahanara Alam made Maroof fall to start the collapse. Pakistan captain was then followed by Fahima Khatun, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, and Sidra Nawaz. Consecutive deliveries took the wickets of Riaz and Sana as Khatun led Bangladesh forward. Sidra Ameen had too much on her plate as she lost partners from both the end. Pakistan required 25 runs off 18 balls but Sidra Ameen got run out in the 48th over and that decided the end to be fatal for them.
Pakistan needed 15 runs off 6 balls eventually ran out of gas.
