RCB vs RR: The Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik show
RCB vs RR: Rajasthan Royals were defeated for the first time in IPL 2022, as Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled off a spectacular comeback to win their second game.
This was a crucial stand in a game that had gone one way and then the other. After Sherfane Rutherford was caught at short third man, Dinesh Karthik wasted little time in getting to work. R Ashwin, a fellow Tamil Nadu veteran, took the brunt of his attack and was carted for 21 in an over, with Karthik accounting for 19.
This was followed by back-to-back boundaries from Saini in the next over, allowing Shahbaz to establish himself. Shahbaz surged into the match with a flurry of boundaries against Prasidh, Saini, and Boult.
RCB vs RR: The tightened powerplay by RCB
After winning the toss and putting Rajasthan into bat, David Willey got Yashasvi Jaiswal bowled out in the second over of the match. Then came Devdutt Padikkal at no.3 facing similar hindrances against the pacers despite flicking Mohammad Siraj off for a six.
RCB managed to keep Padikkal and Buttler unproductive for a larger part, letting them yield only 35 runs. Jos Buttler scored only 10 on 14. Buttler was dropped twice, first by the bowler Akash Deep himself when Buttler miscued a drive. David Willey was the next on the list dropping a misjudged steeper. It allowed Rajasthan to build momentum for the team.

RCB vs RR: Buttler and Hetmyer partnership

The arrival of Shimron Hetmyer took a little pressure off Buttler with the left-handerstriking Hasaranga for back-to-back boundaries to keep the scorecard ticking. The partnership flourished at a steady pace, scoring 32 off 32 balls. The duo switched the gears seeing RR had plenty of wickets left. The last 3 overs faced heavy poundings from both of them yielding 51 runs. Jos Buttler finished with an unbeaten 70 that consisted of six sixes and zero fours, pushing RR to a massive total on a tough pitch.
RCB vs RR: The rollercoaster innings of RCB

The ex-RCB leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal nicked off the wicket of the well-settled skipper Faf du Plessis miscuing a loft down to the long-on. Navdeep Saini got Rawat nicking a cutter in the next over.
Chahal’s next over awarded him back-to-back wickets. Virat Kohli was sent back to the pavilion looking for a quick single and was caught marginally short by a smart throw by Sanju Samson to Chahal on the other end. RCB had lost four wickets in the space of 18 balls and were looking at the bottom lots. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz took care of the chase and led them to victory from the deep jaws of defeat.
