
IPL is one of the most loved tournaments in cricket. All people from around the world love IPL and that’s why it is one of the most expensive leagues in cricket. It used to be an 8 team competition but this year it was announced that two more teams would be added to this league to make it a 10 team League.
This announcement has made all the admirers very excited as the level of the competition will rise and there will be new teams to support and watch the classic competitive game. The name of the cities for which the players will play is Lucknow and Ahmedabad, though the final team names are not announced yet. With this big announcement there comes a lot of questions regarding the new teams.
Mega Auction to take place
Due to the addition of the two new teams, a mega auction will take place. The old teams have retained 4 players from their team and the rest are under the hammer. Now, according to the rules, the combination of players retained must be 2 Indian players and 2 overseas players or 3 Indian players and an overseas player.
The two new franchises can pick 3 players from the pool from 1st December to 25th December as the names of released players were announced before 30th November. The final date of the mega auction is not yet announced but it is expected that the auction will happen in the first week of January 2022 where the finalization of teams will be done. The salary purse for teams has also been increased from 85 Cr. To 90 Cr. This can be because there are two new franchises and new players as well.
Retained Players List for IPL 2022
The franchises were given 30th November as a deadline to announce their retained players and the new franchises are now given the timeline of 25 days i.e. from 1st to 25th December to target the players they want. The new teams can choose their players in the combination of 3 Indian players and 1 overseas player from the pool.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK): Ravindra Jadeja for 16cr, MS Dhoni for 12cr, Moeen Ali for 8cr, and Rituraj Gaikwad for 6cr

Delhi Capitals (DC): Rishabh Pant for 16cr, Axar Patel for 9cr, Prithvi Shaw for 7.50cr, and Anrich Nortje for 6.50cr.

Kolkata Nightriders (KKR): Andre Russel for 12cr, Venkatesh Iyer for 8cr, Varun Chakraborty for 8cr, and Sunil Narine for 6cr.

Mumbai Indians (MI): Rohit Sharma for 16cr, Jasprit Bumrah for 12cr, Surya Kumar Yadav for 8cr, and Kieron Pollard for 6cr.

Punjab Kings (PBKS): Mayank Agarwal for 12cr, and Arshdeep Singh for 4cr.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): Sanju Samson for 14cr, Jos Buttler for 10cr, and Yashasvi Jaiswal for 4cr.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Virat Kohli for 15cr, Glenn Maxwell for 11cr, and Mohammad Siraj for 7cr.

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH): Kane Williamson for 14cr, Umran Malik for 4cr, and Abdul Samad for 4cr

It looks like the franchises have made some really hard decisions in letting go of some of the legendary players from their teams and retaining the rest. The fans all around the globe are very excited for 2022 IPL as there are new teams that means the event will last longer where the teams would compete against each other.
